Stalking

The term "Stalking" means the act or crime of willfully and repeatedly following or harassing another person in circumstances that would cause a person to fear injury or death especially because of express or implied threats. It can be a stranger, or an acquaintance, a friend or a former partner.

Stalking, has been a crime in Italy since 2009

The stalking crime was introduced in Italy with art. 612-bis of the penal code. It is listed as Persecutory act and is included in the Law Decree of 23 February 2009 (Maroni Order). "Except in cases where the circumstances constitute a more serious crime, whoever threatens or harasses someone thus to cause a persistent and serious state of anxiety or fear or to generate a well-founded fear for one's own safety or that of a close relative or person linked attached by affection to him, or to force to change one's life habits, is punishable by imprisonment for six months up to four year"

The private investigator's work

Federalpol private investigators first identify the stalker then document the persecutory acts with testimonies, photographic video evidence and the tracing of anonymous calls. The agencies use sophisticated technologies to carry out this activity. For example, GPS satellite equipment on the stalker's car allows to verify his location far from the areas forbidden as a result of a judgment of the Court. These devices can also be set on the car of the stalking victim who will receive signal if the persecutor approaches. In more serious cases, an escort service protects the customer's safety.

From victims to stalkers

When you are a victim of stalking, you may unknowingly turn into a stalker in turn. This happens, for example, if the alleged stalker is stalked or photographed by his own victim, who decides to personally investigate, looking for the evidence to be used for his own protection. This is actually a mistake to be avoided! To prevent this from happening, the first thing to do is to warn the police. Turning to a private investigator will also allow you to get hold of conclusive evidence without incurring transgressions of the law. Federalpol professionals carry out investigations without breaking the privacy regulations in force.
